Beyond Management: A Conversation with Marta Jakowluk
As part of “Beyond Management: Reading for the Whole Mind”, the Executive MBA Poznań–Atlanta Association hosted an online conversation with Marta Jakowluk, Chief People Officer at OLX Group. At the centre of the discussion was a question particularly relevant in a world shaped by algorithms, speed and constant digital noise: can books help us become better leaders?
Drawing on her professional experience and personal relationship with literature, Marta reflected on the role of reading and storytelling in developing curiosity, empathy, critical thinking and a deeper understanding of people. The conversation went beyond management literature, highlighting biographies, memoirs and fiction as ways of discovering different perspectives and experiences.
The discussion also addressed reading in the age of artificial intelligence and the importance of reflection when technology provides instant access to information. Participants heard about books that have accompanied Marta throughout her personal and professional journey. The meeting formed part of the Association’s Book Club initiative, creating a space for literature, dialogue and personal development.
