Optimism Doesn’t Fall from the Sky
Members of our Association attended a meeting with Prof. Henryk Mruk, held on the viewing terrace of Collegium Altum at the Poznań University of Economics and Business – the highest point in the city.
The unique setting provided a natural backdrop for reflecting on optimism, almost within reach of the sky. As Professor Mruk emphasised, optimism is never accidental. It is a mindset shaped by daily effort, self-awareness, and the way we choose to interpret the world.
Professor Henryk Mruk is a long-standing faculty member of the Department of International Trade at the Poznań University of Economics and Business, a consultant on numerous projects for leading Polish companies in the fields of marketing and management, and the author of many books bridging academic knowledge with business practice.
In both professional and personal relationships, the fundamentals remain unchanged: kindness, respect, and the predominance of positive emotions. Friendship, cooperation, and intergenerational bonds often prove far more valuable than success measured solely by numbers.
The world is often better than we think – our minds simply do not always notice it. Cultivating optimism, therefore, is not naïve; it is a discipline worth practising every day.
